There was a little ripple of amazing new wave records inspired by the Falklands War, and the first of them appeared on June 7, 1982, when the war was still going on: a cover of Edwin Starr’s “Stop the War Now,” credited to Raw Sex, a.k.a. Raw Sex Pure Energy, who are mysterious to me. They included Neneh Cherry (again!), George Oban (of New Age Steppers) and producer Joe Blocker… the B-side is called “Give Sheep a Chance.”
